Find the right school for your child with
School Guide

Did you know that national website,  SchoolGuide.co.uk, is based here in Bath and run by one of our lovely Mums (and More) in Bath members? Victoria Bond started School Guide after becoming frustrated with the lack of accessible information about schools that she could find when she was searching for her own boys' primary schools. After wading through reems of government data and being left more confused than she started, Victoria founded the school comparison website, School Guide. Taking official government data and making it easy to understand, the site allows you to see a snapshot of school's performances, make direct comparisons between schools and even work out how likely you are to gain admission to a school based on where you live. You can read more in our blog here.

Search for schools near your home and refine by primary or secondary and include or exclude independent schools. Schools are listed in order of star rating.

Unlock the full data to see all school star ratings. The unique School Guide algorithm takes key performance data to create a unique star rating for every school across the UK.

With upgraded access you can see catchment heatmaps for schools which allows you to see how likely you are to be in the catchment for that school. You can even plot your home address in relation to the school and to see where it sits within the catchment heat map.

You can see a range of data for each school you are looking at including staff to pupil ratio, Ofsted rating and key performance data.  These are displayed in easy to understand visuals for those of us who don't understand statistics and data!

You can select schools to compare and see their data side by side to help you understand each school in relation to the other.

Whilst you can access lots of the School Guide information for free, you can unlock all of the data for just £14.95 a month.

However, I have worked with School Guide for many years and regularly recommend the information found in its pages to my friends and family as it really is such a useful tool when making primary and secondary school admissions decisions.
