When Alena started the Mums in Bath group last year she didn't quite anticipate just how much need there was for a friendly, supportive community of parents in Bath. The group has gone from strength to strength, continuing to grow every day. It is so lovely to see so many helpful and insightful conversations between mums about all aspects of parenting in the Bath area.
One of the biggest uses of the group is to ask for ideas and recommendations for things to do, places to visit and local people to help with every day life.
The group feed can quickly become filled with questions about where to go swimming, or what is on a given weekend. That is where the idea to create a website was born.
I have been quietly beavering away in the background, and with the support of some fabulous local businesses, especially Alison.Style and The Bath Massage Company who are shining MiB-stars supporters, I have created the website to bring all these ideas together.
MumsinBath.com contains listings of toddler groups, classes and events happening in the area as well as a Directory featuring everything from local soft plays to tradespeople. The site is definitely a work in progress and with the Mums in Bath members group I hope to keep adding and developing to the site over the coming months.
If you run a club or class locally, or have a product or service you would like to feature on the site please do email me at mumsinbath@gmail.com. Whilst I build the site I am offering free listings, with the intention to charge a small admin fee to be featured as the traffic to the site grows. Listings will always be free charitable events.
